Turn PDFs, TIFFs, CAD multi-page documents and other multipage files into a single, continuous image (vertically or horizontally) with reaConverter’s Merge to One Image option. This feature is particularly useful when converting to formats that don’t support multiple pages, or when you need scrollable visuals for easier viewing, sharing, or presentation purposes. Whether you’re handling scanned documents, technical drawings, or creating social media content, this tool streamlines your workflow by turning multiple pages into one cohesive file.

Download reaConverter

What is “Merge to One Image”?

Merge to One Image combines all pages of a multipage document (or multiple documents) into a single output image. Pages can be stacked vertically (one long scrollable image) or placed horizontally (wide panorama), preserving the visual fidelity of each page while making the result easier to view, share, or embed in presentations.

This feature is particularly useful when converting to image formats that don’t support multiple pages — such as JPG, PNG, or BMP. Instead of saving just the first page or creating separate files, Merge to One Image ensures all your content stays together in one continuous image.

Quick Step-By-Step Guide

1. Add files

Drag-and-drop your multipage files (PDF, TIFF, PLT, CGM, CG4, etc.) into reaConverter or use Add files / Add folder for batch processing.

2. Enable single-file output + Merge

Go to Saving Settings → Multipage files. Choose “Save all processed files to one file” and tick “Merge to one image”. Then pick Vertically or Horizontally depending on whether you want a long vertical strip or a wide image.

3. Choose output format & quality

Select JPG/PNG/TIFF as needed and configure DPI/quality to balance fidelity and file size.

4. Convert

Click Convert to produce the single merged image. reaConverter will process the pages and generate the final file in your specified output folder.

Advanced Options and Batch Use

Batch processing: Add many multipage files or entire folders — the same Merge settings are applied to each job.

Group files into one image: If you need to control grouping (e.g., merge every N files into one image), use the “Save group of files to one file / Group by” option in the Multipage settings.

Orientation choice: Vertical stacking is best for documents/slides; horizontal stacking is useful for panoramas or side-by-side comparisons.

Supported Inputs and Outputs

reaConverter supports a wide range of input formats, including:

PDF – Portable Document Format

TIFF – Multipage Tagged Image File Format

TGA (Targa) – High-quality graphics with alpha channels, common in animation

CGM (Computer Graphics Metafile) – Vector format for precise technical diagrams

CG4 (CALS Group 4) – Compressed raster format for engineering documents

PLT (HPGL Plotter) – Vector-based format for CAD and plotting applications

And many other raster and vector formats

Output formats include formats that don’t natively support multiple pages:

Single-page outputs: JPG, PNG, BMP, …

Multi-page capable: TIFF, PDF

When converting to single-page formats, Merge to One Image ensures no content is lost by combining everything into one continuous image.

Command line and Automation

You can automate Merge to One Image jobs with reaConverter’s command line and Watch Folders to integrate this into production pipelines or hands-off workflows (useful for scheduled exports or large batches).

See the automation and integration section in the reaConverter tutorials for parameters to enable multipage merging and choose orientation.

Practical Use Cases

Marketing: Export an entire product catalog as one scrollable JPG image for Instagram stories or website previews.

Education: Merge lecture slides into a single PNG reference image for students.

Technical documentation: Combine multi-page technical drawings or scanner outputs into a single image for quick review.

Web graphics: Convert multipage PDFs to single PNG images for easy embedding in web pages without viewer plugins.

Tips & Troubleshooting

Large final files: A long merged image can become very large. If file size is an issue, lower output DPI or use JPG compression.

Different page sizes: If source pages vary in width/height, consider normalizing size (resize pages or set a fixed DPI) before merging to avoid unexpected padding or misalignment.

Order of pages: Make sure input files/pages are in the correct order in the file list before converting, the merge respects that order.

Preview first: Always preview one example output when changing orientation or quality settings to confirm the result.

Example: convert a PDF booklet to one long JPG

Add
booklet.pdf

Saving Settings → Multipage files → “Save all processed files to one file” → check “Merge to one image” → choose Vertically

Output format: JPG, quality 85%, DPI 150

Click Convert

Result:
booklet_merged.jpg
(single long image)

Conclusion

The Merge to One Image feature is a simple but powerful tool for turning multipage content into single, shareable images — especially useful when working with formats like JPG, PNG, or BMP that don’t support multiple pages. It’s great for presentations, social media, documentation and faster review. The feature works offline, integrates with reaConverter’s batch and automation tools for production use, and ensures no content is lost when converting from multipage to single-page formats. Try different orientations and output settings on a sample file to find the balance of quality and file size that fits your workflow.

JPEG is probably the most popular extension for storing and transferring images. Many users prefer this format for sending photographs by email or uploading them on social networks. The reasons are obvious: JPEG can be opened with even the most basic image viewer, provides small size and decent image quality.

The format is also used as output extension by many scanning and faxing devices. Using JPEG you can get a quick and small digital copy of a document. As this is a raster format, however, what you get is an image reproduction of the document. Not an actual text. This means scanned JPEG cannot be searched or edited. Depending on your area of work, this can be a considerable problem. For example, if you scan a certificate or an invoice that you need to make quick corrections to, the JPEG format will not be of much help.

With reaConverter’s latest edition, you can now convert scanned JPEG images with text into searchable and editable PDFs. This powerful converter uses an advanced technology called optical character recognition (OCR) to transform the scanned image of a text into an actual text. OCR uses shape and pattern detection to identify letters, words and non-textual data, such as table formatting or special figures. reaConverter lets you set the language in which you want this feature to operate, thus helping you obtain optimal results.

”Someone recently sent me a WMF file attached to an e-mail. Is it safe to open it on my computer? What kind of file is this and can I use reaConverter to convert it to JPEG?”

A message including this question was recently received by our Technical Support staff and, since other people might experience similar problems, we thought a blog post on this topic would be helpful.

The quick answers to the two questions above are simple: Yes, it is safe to open a WMF file. And yes, reaConverter can help you in converting it to a more accessible and wide-spread format, such as JPEG. In what follows I will briefly explain how.

WMF Format

The WMF (Windows Metafile) extension is attached to files which include commands and operations that describe another image file. It basically contains drawing operations or function calls that apply to a graphical device interface (GDI). They can be related to vector graphics, to bitmap or to raster graphics. WMF files are often associated with clip art and are preferred to bitmaps because they take less space. You can open and edit a WMF file using Microsoft Paint, Microsoft Photo Viewer, Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw.

But the easiest way to handle WMF files and make them truly compatible with any type of image viewer under any operating system is to convert them to JPEG. This is by far the most popular format for storing and transferring images, because it does not require any additional applications or plug-ins, irrespective of the browser or device you use. Whether viewing images from your smartphone, tablet or netbook, it will be equally easy to open JPEGs. Not to mention they will take less space and will be compatible with any photo sharing website.

Batch WMF Converter

reaConverter can help you handle your conversions from WMF to JPEG fast and easy. All you need to do is download and install this software from reaconverter.com, and make full use of its 15-day free trial.

Install reaConverter

Load Your WMF Files

Then load all the WMFs you need to convert, because reaConverter supports batch conversion for over 550 image formats, including archaic and rare.

Edit WMF Before Conversion

The next step is to decide whether you want to process the image files you are about to convert. This quality software allows you choose from a rich array of editing options. You can rotate or resize the image, apply image effects, add filters, adjust brightness, add an image or text watermark, as well as many other possibilities.

Save Result as JPEG

Then proceed to the final step of the conversion process, where you define the location of the output file and its format. reaConverter lets you choose between JPG, PNG, GIF, TIF and many other popular formats.

Finally, start the conversion process and quickly enjoy your newly converted images!

Professional photographers or image editors often have mixed feelings about the use of JPG. On the one hand, they like this format because it doesn’t take too much space, it is easily compatible with any image viewer you can think of, on any type of device (including smartphones, tablets etc.), and it is the default format used by all image sharing websites, from Google to Facebook.

On the other hand, the image quality of JPGs is not exactly the best you can get. To put it simply, JPG is a lossy compression format. This means that having a small size comes with the downside of discarding some of encoding information that ensures an optimal image quality. If you plan to use a photo only on the web, JPG will probably be just fine. But if you plan to print it or add graphics editing, you will need to convert it to a different format.

TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is a good option because it can ensure a lossless compression of the image, which translates into better quality. Though TIFFs tend to have a larger size, they also offer a much more detailed rendering of the image, storing it with more accuracy than the JPG format. And this means the image will look better in print and it will also be more suitable for advanced graphics editing.

Converting a JPG into a lossless TIFF can be as easy as 1-2-3 when you use a quality piece of software as reaConverter.

Install reaConverter

Here are below the quick steps you need to take:

Load JPEG Files

Select all the images you intend to convert and get them ready for batch conversion by adding them to the file list. As opposed to other free online converters, reaConverter not only offers you advanced settings and options, but also the possibility to convert all the files you need at once.

This powerful converter supports over 550 image formats, including archaic and rare.

Edit Images

Go to the second step of the conversion process and decide how you want to tune up your images. reaConverter offers a comprehensive set of tools to handle the way in which your output image will look like.

You can opt for rotating, resizing and cropping your image, mirroring or changing the canvas size. You can also add a wide array of image effects and filters, or correct color noise and brightness.

Tick the “Preview” box on the lower right side of this window and all the editing will almost instantly become visible, so you can check the results of your settings in real time.

Save to TIFF

In the final step of the conversion process, select the destination folder and TIF as the extension of the output file. If you want to opt for lossless TIF, click the Format settings icon. Here you can apply additional commands regarding the conversion process. Choose No compression in the Compression type section.

Then just click OK and Start the conversion. The newly converted images will be ready fast!

Try reaConverter

JPEG and TIFF are two of the most popular extensions used for storing image files. But which one is better? It depends. Though they apparently have a similar function, the two differ on several aspects, such as size and image quality.

JPEG or JPG is the format typically used by most non-professional digital cameras to shoot photographs. So it is definitely the most wide-spread extension you will find photos in.

The advantages of JPEGs are size — which tends to be small, and transferability — which means you can easily store and e-mail such files. Also, most browsers do not require special applications or plug-ins for viewing JPEGs, and this format is compatible with all photo sharing websites. Hence, if you are interested more in easily uploading your files on Internet and care about how much space they take on your computer, than JPEG is what you need.

If, on the other hand, you care more about the quality of your image, especially in case you plan to print it, you might prefer the TIFF format. While JPEGs provide a “lossy” compression of the image, which translates in a lower image quality, TIFFs (Tagged Image File Format) can ensure a “lossless” compression, or in other words reproduce the photographed/scanned image with more accuracy. This means that TIFFs tend to be larger in size, but will also look a lot better when printed than JPEGs.

Another important difference between TIFFs and JPEGs is that the former support a multi-page format, whereas the latter does not. So, if you happen to have a multi-page TIFF that you want to convert to multiple JPEG files, here is the fast and easy way to do it:

Download reaConverter Lite

Download and install reaConverter Lite, a quality piece of software that supports conversions from TIF to JPG in batch mode. You will notice it does not take too much space on your computer, it has a user-friendly interface and is available for free.

Install reaConverter Lite

Adobe Illustrator has a lot of fans among graphic designers and a great ranking between other programs used for creating and editing vector graphics. If you are one of those fans, you probably use AI files a lot, since this is the native format for Illustrator. The AI extension is great to use for vector-based drawings when you have Adobe Illustrator installed on all the computers on which you plan to open and handle these image files. There are also a few other programs that support the AI format, including Adobe Reader, Corel Draw and Adobe InDesign.

However, not having Illustrator installed on your computer might be a problem when you plan to handle AI files, because most of the other programs which support this format do so with some limitations. Moreover, AI files tend to have a large size and this can be an additional problem when you store and send them.

So, if you want to make your vector-based drawings truly easy to transfer and if you don’t want to worry too much about the files’ compatibility with other image viewers, there is one quick and simple solution for you: convert your AIs into JPEGs.

JPEG is the most popular format for storing and transferring images, and it is supported by any image viewer you can think of, whether it is installed on a computer, smartphone or tablet. It is also a format compatible with all image-sharing websites, and it offers a decent image quality, particularly if you plan to use the image exclusively on the web.

Converting a large number of AI files into JPEG can be really easy if you use a powerful conversion software such as reaConverter. This program supports batch conversion for over 500 image formats, including AI.

Install reaConverter

Afterwards, all you need to do is follow these 3 easy steps:

Load all the AI images

Select all the AI files you need to convert and add them to the conversion list.

You can also pick a resolution of your choice for loading the AI files. For example, if you don’t plan to print the output files, but simply upload them online on a website or on an image sharing network, you can opt for a 72 dpi resolution. This will save time and space when converting, transferring and storing the output images.

To change loading resolution, go to the Menu button and click Loading settings → PDF/EPS/PS/AI loading settings

Edit images

Decide if you want to add any image processing to your files. reaConverter offers you a rich amount of options here. You can choose to adjust the image by correcting the RGB or adding a photo filter. Watermarking, cropping, rotating and resizing the image are also easy-to-apply options, which you can test in real time by ticking the Preview box on the upper right side of this window.

Save the Result

Finally, move on to the last step of the conversion process, where you choose the destination folder for your output file, and its format. JPG, PNG and TIF are among the popular image formats available here. Pick one and start the conversion process.

You will almost instantly have a brand new collection of easily transferable images, which you can store, send and share without worrying about size or compatibility.

Try reaConverter

JPEG is the most popular format for storing and sharing decent quality images or uploading them online. But in case you want to process a JPG file via a computer-aided design program such as AutoCAD, you will need to vectorize it. Or, in other words, turn it from a raster file made up of pixels — into a vector file made up of points, lines and curves.

Vectorizing a JPG picture into an AutoCAD DXF drawing can be done in no more than a few clicks using reaConverter’s latest edition.

Install reaConverter

How does it work?

Start reaConverter and load one or more JPEG images you intend to convert. Drag-and-drop them or add them manually.

Go to the Menu button, click Saving settings → Additional saving settings and then the Raster to vector tab. Here you can choose the vectorization algorithm which is most suitable for your image. Centerline is recommended in the case of drawings, whereas outline works better in the case of images or clipart pictures.

Next, decide where the DXFs will be saved by clicking the Saving settings tab. Pick the format and location of the output files.

In case a DXF button is not among the ones placed at the bottom of reaConverter’s main window, click the Plus button and find it in the list of available formats.

Then simply press Start and your newly converted DXF files will be ready in a few moments.

JPG and PNG are two of the most popular extensions for image files, but which one is the best? Some people prefer the JPG format because of its small size, because it is easy to upload online and it is compatible with any image viewer program you might have and with all photo sharing websites. However, JPG is a lossy compression format, which means it discards some of the encoding information of the image so as to ensure the file is not too large. This translates into poorer quality — including some image noise and possibly irregular shapes, which is relevant particularly if you plan to print the image or use it for graphics editing.

On the other hand, the PNG format provides a lossless compression, which means it stores all the necessary data that allows the compressed image to reconstruct the original one. PNGs are a better choice than JPG if you plan to apply later editing to a photo, and are also more suitable for saving images that include text, line drawings or iconic.

If you have one or more JPG files that you need to convert to lossless PNG, you can easily do so using reaConverter.

This powerful software supports conversion to and from over 500 image formats, including lossless PNG. All you need to do is:

Load JPG Files

Load all the JPGs you need to convert and include them in the list for batch conversion.

Edit Images in Batch

Move on to the second step of the conversion process, where you can add image processing and tune it up. Here you can opt for rotating, resizing and cropping your image, or adjusting contrast and brightness. You can also add an image watermark or text watermark that will appear on all your output images, or add borders and shadows. The wide array of editing options can be tuned up according to your desire and can be tested live. You only need to tick the “preview” box and you will instantly be able to see all the image corrections as they are applied.

Save result in lossless PNG

Finally, select the destination folder and PNG as the extension of the output file.

Consequently, push the Format settings button and then take a few moments to check the PNG menu (see below). Here you have several options for your output file, including the compression level. The default number you have here is 7, but if you want to opt for a lossless compression, the PNG compression level should be 0.

After you have changed this number, click OK and push the Start conversion button. Your new image files will be ready to use in no time!

Whether you are practicing photography professionally or just as a hobby, you probably like to enhance the quality of your digital pictures by adjusting things such as framing, contrast, white balance and exposure. And in order to have all the control you need on such aspects and several others when it comes to customizing your photo, you probably prefer creating images in a RAW format. In case you are also a Pentax fan, and just got a sleek K-30 model, for example, which you immediately set to take RAW images, you might be puzzled to discover a bunch of PEF files recorded on your camera’s memory card. What are these files and how to handle them?

The PEF extension is used for RAW image files taken with a Pentax camera. As opposed to JPGs or PNGs, RAW images are not processed automatically according to your camera’s predefined settings and are not compressed, so they retain most details and colours that you saw with your own eyes when taking the picture. Setting your camera to take a photo that looks almost exactly like you saw it in reality is really great for a passionate photographer, because he/she has a lot of freedom to apply further editing on the digital photo, highlighting or foregrounding specific details, playing with lights and shadows. But how to do this if you are not an expert in using an advanced digital editing software? Or if you do not have a computer with high processing power, that would be able to handle the huge size of a RAW image without freezing when you least expect it?

The answer is simple: convert your PEF images! Or even better, pick a converter that not only allows you to transform your image into a more accessible format, but also lets you apply a wide range of editing options to your output image. So here is a step-by-step guide for doing this fast and easy:

Install reaConverter

Download and install a piece of quality software, which allows batch conversion and doesn’t take too much space on your hard drive. reaConverter can be downloaded and tried for free at this address: www.reaconverter.com

Load PEF photos

Load all the PEF files you need to convert and then select from the long list of editing options available. You can choose to rotate or resize your images, to mirror or crop them. And my personal favourite is the Watermarking option, which is exactly what a photographer needs in order to protect the copyright of photos. Watermarking means that you can apply a text or an image on each of the converted photos, with a customizable size, position and degree of transparency. This is wonderful when you want to make sure no one will take your photos and use them without your permission.

Convert

Choose the format of your output image: JPG, PNG, and TIF are just some of the available options.

And then just start the conversion and enjoy your images in no time!

 Download and try reaConverter

Online PEF Converter:

reaConverter is a highly efficient tool for managing a large amount of PEF photos on a frequent basis. However, if you are planning to convert only a few PEF files and only once in a while, then you can also try online RAW converter imverter.com

How should I Open It?">Read more

We got this question from a reader who had just been sent an e-mail with an ORF file attached and wasn’t sure whether opening such files is safe or not. Moreover, if it is safe, what software would he need to open it? Because Windows did not seem to be able to handle the file with the regular programs installed.

ORF is a file extension used for RAW image files created with an Olympus camera. Our reader probably received a photograph that did not have a more popular format, such as JPEG or PNG, because its owner wanted to allow future editing to the image, including advanced customization such as correcting exposure or white balance. Most photographers prefer using the RAW format for their images, because this way they have more options to add digital adjustments and make the image look the way they want. However, as opposed to JPEG files, for example, RAW images have the disadvantage of taking a lot of space and of being difficult to open and handle. Because they can be up to 6 times larger than JPEGs, they are also difficult to send and archive.

Hence, the answer to our reader would be the following: yes, it is safe to open an ORF file. However, in order to do this you would probably need a not-so-easy-to-find and potentially not very user-friendly software. Programs that can open ORF files include Corel Draw and Adobe Photoshop. All tend to have large sizes, to be rather expensive and not particularly easy to use. So our recommendation would be to download the ORF file from the e-mail attachment and then convert it to a format that is easier to handle. How to do this?

The quick and simple way to handle your ORF conversions is to get a quality piece of software, such as reaConverter. You can download and try it for free at reaconverter.com. Although it is small, this software is extremely efficient in managing a wide range of conversions. As you will soon realize, ReaConverter will help you avoid spending countless hours trying to figure out how to use an advanced digital editing program to open the photos you made with your brand new Olympus Stylus SP-820UZ, for example. But at the same time, it will allow you to apply a wide range of editing options.

Here is a glimpse of what this program can do with your images:

Resize your output image by defining its width and height, or resolution.

Crop a particular number of pixels from your image.

Rotate your image by using a specific angle.

Change the background colour of your output image.

Convert your photo to black and white.

Apply watermarking to protect the copyright of your image. Image or text watermarking are available and you have several options to make sure the watermark goes exactly where you want it on the photograph.

…and much more!

Download and try reaConverter (~35 MiB)

Advanced users can process ORF files using command line converter in manual, automated or scheduled mode.
Online ORF conversion:

reaConverter is a great solution for efficiently managing a large amount of files, on a frequent basis. However, if you are planning to convert only a few ORF photos and only once in a while, then you can also try Imverter, free online photo converter.
